Litter Robot LRII

Are you sick and tired of cleaning up all that disgusting cat litter?

Are you sick of spending money on fresh cat litter constantly? The Litter Robot LRII Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box can help you save time as well as a lot of money down the road.

With the Litter Robot II, you will no longer have to hand scoop or rake up after your cat. This unit automates nearly every part of the cat litter box cleaning process. Although the unit isn’t the cheapest automated litter box system out there, it is quite possibly the best. It is available in both black and beige colored versions.

Product Features:

  • Built in weight sensor: Detects your cat entering the Littler box with weight sensors, which initiates the timer for the cleaning process to begin. Seven minutes from the time your cat enters the box the Litter Robot initiates the self cleaning process.
  • Patented Litter Sift System: The litter sifting system cycles all the litter inside the globe sending the waste product out through the bottom of the machine while preserving the clean litter.
  • Waste deposit system: The waste which is sifted through the machine is deposited into a drawer at the bottom of the machine, which can be lined with a normal garbage bag, or even a small shopping bag for easy removal without unnecessary handling of the litter.
  • Works with any clumping litter: No special litters are required for the Litter robot machine to function. It can use any commercial clumping litter.

So How Does It Work?

  • The Litter Robot LRII uses its patented sifting process to thoroughly clean out the litter bed automatically after each time your cat uses it. With a large enough capacity that it can easily accommodate up to four cats per unit in your home. To start the automatic cleaning process, the Litter Robot starts a timer as soon as your cat enters the machine, and seven minutes from that point it starts its cleaning cycle.
  • The cleaning cycle consists of the whole globe rotating slowly to sift out all the clumps from the clean litter. And then depositing all the waste materials into the large capacity drawer located at the bottom of the unit. Which you can line with a kitchen bag or similar bag to make clean up easier, and completely remove the need to handle litter. Once it is done sifting, the machine returns to its original position and is ready to be used again.
  • The really nice thing here is that there are no rakes, or hoses or other moving parts which can jam or backup. Totally ruining the effectiveness of the unit, and making you handle the clean-up which it was supposed to prevent. The Litter Robot gets it right by keeping everything simple, which gives it a longevity far beyond most other automatic litter boxes.

What do I need to run the Litter Robot?

The Litter Robot LRII Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box uses a 12v DC plug, so all you need is an available outlet.

Do I need to do any maintenance on the Little Robot?

For the most part the only maintenance you need to do on the Litter Robot is to remove the waste drawer around once a week. (depending on how many cats you have) other then that you will probably want to clean the waste drawer once a month at least as it can start to pick up a slight odor. The same applies to the unit itself, but it normally takes a couple months before any cleaning is needed.

What makes it better then a normal litter box for my cat? Or for me?

  1. Health wise, the Litter Robot is far superior to a conventional litter box. Because if you think about it, with a conventional box all that waste stays in there till you remove it. Which means your cat is walking in it, and tracking it around the house. And also, developing a smell over time.
  2. With the Litter Robot all the waste is stored away underneath so your cat isn’t tracking it around the house. And lets be honest with ourselves, with how much simpler this is to clean then a normal box you will be much more inclined to clean it out on a more regular basis. So no smells, no mess and no need for your cat to walk around in their own waste to use the bathroom.
  3. Money wise it is also superior, since you will be using a lot less litter then with a normal litter box. Since, with the normal box when you change it out you have to dump everything out.
  4. With the Litter Robot the waste is automatically removed so there is no reason to remove all of the litter constantly. As long as you keep the litter level where it needs to be, and do a change out if it starts to pick up and odor you will have no problems. And save a lot of money in buying litter.

Is it safe for my cat?

Yes,  The Litter Robot LRII Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box is 100% safe for your kitten or cat. Even if the cleaning cycle starts while your cat is inside (assuming that it just happens that one cat goes in too soon after another) there is no moving parts or chemicals that could potentially harm the animal in any way. So they can easily jump out without worry.

The Good:

This is a GREAT product! It requires hardly any attention, uses clumping type litter and can be left On or Off. ” -PurpleDoggys via Amazon

I’ve had our Litter Robot for a little over a year, it’s running just fine and haven’t had any problems at all. ” – a Dmented lil Thori – Via Amazon

“My first one finally died. It actually still works electronically, it was part of the gear that wore out. Repeat, wore out from so much use! After 6 years that’s an amazing purchase, i think. I was laughed at by my friends for buying such an expensive litter box but it has made my life better. ” – Colorado127 via Amazon

The Bad:

Purchased this unit 7 months ago. Once I got our 2 cats to use it life was good. Unit easily cleans litter as described for a week before needing litter tray emptying. The problem is this thing relies on motors, power supply, and a circuit board to operate efficiently daily. When most cats urinate they keep they’re 2 front paws out of the box, occasionally some of that will spill over in the front. This has happened with our unit and destroyed the improperly sealed circuit board.Angela D – Via Amazon
